The alternator is used to charge your vehicle by converting mechanical energy into electrical energy which is transferred to the battery and goes on to power the vehicle electrical systems.
Signs your alternator is failing –
• If you notice a change in electrical supply, for example dim lights that get brighter when your engine revs increase and the decrease again as you slow down this could be a sign your alternator is failing and not generating enough power to keep up with the electrical needs of your vehicle.
• Vehicle stalling unexpectedly or trouble starting
• Flat battery
• Dash warning lights
• Unusual smell/sounds
