Window regulators, also known as “window lifters” can be either electrical or mechanical and are responsible for lifting and lowering the glass in your vehicle to either open or close each window.
Signs your window regulator needs replaced –
• Windows moving very slowly
• Noise – creaking when the window moves
• Windows do not hold in place or jerk when in motion
• Spontaneous movements up or down
• Windows will not open
Common faults with window regulators –
• Blown or burnt out fuse
• Oxidisation/ageing
• Broken cables
• Wear and tear in the motor
